Creating an animated banner for sports tournament

Start by creating a file of banner size.

Create an ellipse using elliptical shape tool.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.
Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool.
insert a relevant image. Place it right above the green ellipse.
Press Ctrl+Alt+G to create a clipping mask.

Create a pattern of horizontal lines using line tool.
Ctrl+Click the layer thumbnail to get the selection. Select image layer and press Ctrl+J to copy paste the selection in a new layer.

Hide the image layer. Again press Ctrl+Shift+G to create the clipping mask.
Insert another image. Repeat the above steps. The only difference this time is that you have to inverse the selection before pressing Ctrl+J. This will create an alternate pattern of both images that are viewable through the line pattern. This will create an interesting transition effect.
Insert two more images and redo the steps we used for the image above.
Type the text details on right side of the banner.
Open animation window. For the first frame keep the image 1 visible and hide rest of the image layers.

Duplicate frame. Hide the image 1 layer and unhide the image 1 line pattern layer.
Duplicate frame. Keep the image 1 line pattern layer visible and unhide the image 2 line pattern layer. Reduce the opacity to 50% for both layers.
Duplicate frame. Hide the image 1 line pattern layer and change the opacity of image 2 line pattern layer to 100%..
Duplicate frame. Unhide the image 2 layer and hide the image 2 line pattern layer.
Similarly repeat the steps mentioned above to create a transition between image 2 and image 3, between image 3 and image 4 and finally between image 4 and image 1 to complete a seamless loop of image slide show.
Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to save an optimized animated GIF.
