Wildbytes - Creating a header for a website

In this tutorial we'll create a header graphic for an imaginary wildlife photography website.

In a new file fill the background layer with a green to dark grey gradient.

Duplicate the layer and change layer mode to overlay.
Create a new layer. From filter menu select Alien skin eye candy 5: textures>>animal fur. Click here to download the plugin.

Apply settings as shown.

Change the layer mode to overlay and reduce the opacity.
Take cutout of a tiger image and place above all other layer.

Change layer mode to overlay.

In a new layer type "Wildbytes".

Double click to open layer style window and apply outer glow, bevel & emboss, and stroke. Use settings as shown.
Change blending mode to overlay in layer style window itself.

 

You'll get this fine text fx after applying these settings.

 

Type rest of the information you would like to add on your header.

An attractive header is ready to place on top of your web page.
